'Cake Boss' faces 2 drunk driving charges, rejects plea deal

Being accused of drunk driving can have a profound impact on many people. The accusations can have an impact on every aspect of your life, including your social life and your professional life. For some people, those effects can be much more considerable than others. The recent arrest of Buddy Valastro in New York shows that even high-profile celebrities can be caught up in the legal system.

The Cake Boss was allegedly swerving through traffic in his Corvette when he was pulled over. The police officer who pulled the reality star over says that the man had bloodshot eyes, was flushed and smelled of alcohol.

According to the assistant district attorney, the man tried to use his reality star status to get out of the drunk driving arrest. He then asked to be put in a cab instead of being arrested. The officer arrested the man, who allegedly failed more than one sobriety test.

In court, the Cake Boss rejected a plea deal. He opted not to plea at all on the two counts of drunk driving he is facing. His next court appearance is in January.

Some people who are facing charges of drunk driving might have the option for a plea deal. In Valastro's case, he opted to reject that deal. Those who are offered a plea deal should make sure they understand the offer they are presented with. Understanding the plea deal and knowing the possibilities that come with rejecting that deal might make it easier for a defendant to know what to do.
